I am so ecstatic about this album! I've been bumping to Adele's singles "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone like You" since December of last year. Adele's first album "19" was a Grammy award winning success. She took gut wrenching heartbreak and turned it into a lovely soulful album. Once again heartbreak is the outstanding theme of her new venture "21".
She considers herself fortunate to have been through such an ordeal because it in turn gave birth to another great love story that she could share with the world. Adele took a new direction in this album using the influence of blues and country music to write her songs. She talks about pushing herself to the next level, finding her own sound, and taking her voice to ranges she never knew she could do. I applaud her for this new album because she truly shows that an artist will never fail to turn tragedy into something moving. Her influences will touch a number of perfect strangers going through similar situations. Her lyrics will be the perfect words through which they can vent out their feelings or for the individual just looking for really good music. After sampling the album, there are so many good tracks that I simply can't pick a favorite.
She will be touring the US in the coming months. I personally cannot wait until she reaches Boston! The album is debuting on Feb. 22 in the US and already released in the UK. I highly recommend getting it because you won't regret it. For those who love music by Amy Winehouse, and Duffy you will find solice in the music of Adele.
